Anthropologie Inspired Planters

I have been eyeing Anthropologie mugs since long and to make my desire even stronger Anthropologie recently launched an enticing collection of Leta, Concha and many other garden planters. The moment my eyes set on those beautiful, vibrant planters, I wanted to recreate the look.

Let me first show you how beautiful these pots and planters are. Below are the range of Concha garden pots. Ain't they beautiful beyond words. The patterns and colours of these planters are so interesting.

And look at these Leta Garden pots in below image. They are just gorgeous and can easily liven up any dull and boring space.

I have been hoarding some clay pots and broken bowls in a hope that some day I'll put them to a good use.

Garden Planters

And here is my humble attempt to recreate the Anthropologie inspired look. I liked the colours and patterns so much that I didn't add anything from my side (except a few).

Anthropologie Garden Pots

The bowls have four sides and I painted each side with a different pattern. Do you see, I painted my logo too :)

Anthropologie Inspired Pots

I planted the plants that were already flourishing and multiplying in my garden. Here are some more images from different angles.

And here's the final one to compare. Close enough? Yay or nay!!

Would love to hear a word or two from you, dear readers. How do you find my handpainted planters.

Decorating With Bougainvillea Flowers

There was a time when I hated bougainvillea to an extent that I didn't even want to look at it but lately my likes and dislikes have changed drastically. And now my love for bougainvillea is growing by leaps and bounds. Now whenever I see bougainvillea around I feel drawn toward the beauty of it. The striking bright colours of its bloom never fail to attract my attention.
Let me share an incident with you all, as you all have been so loyal that I can now share my secrets with you :)
On my way to drop my son to his school I spotted a very beautiful flame red bougainvillea in full bloom alongside the railway track. And would you believe I have been eyeing this beauty for past few months but didn't have the courage to pluck such lovely blooms. Moreover, every time I planned to pluck the flowers my mind reminded me of one of the quotes that my mother sends us every morning sometimes to boost our morale and sometimes to instill good values in us.

Bougainvillea Flower

The quote goes like this:
What is the difference between
'I like you' and 'I love you'.
Beautifully answered by Buddha:
"When you like a flower, you pluck it but when you love a flower, you water it daily"
One who understands this understands life!!

Now tell me who on the earth will go against such a beautiful quote and pluck the flower.

But pardon me, I have done this not because I like bougainvillea but because I love it. The place where it was growing is not good, lots of filth around and heavy vehicles parked there crush and smash most of its branches. So one day I mustered courage and cut some branches to grow it in my balcony garden.

Now that's a better idea, isn't it? I not only got beautiful bougainvillea flowers to style my coffee table but also an older branch to grow one more bougainvillea plant.

Styling coffee table with flowers isn't a big deal. You need to be little innovative and can turn any mundane object into a vase, place some coffee table books and some more tiny plants or succulents in some unusual planter like conch/shell and your coffee table styling is done.

Complement the colour of flowers by tossing a cushion in same shade for a pulled together or cohesive look.

You can't learn home decorating by reading books or taking classes instead trial and error method is what works best here. Slowly you will learn the tricks of the trade.

Keep rotating stuff to freshen up the look and feel of the place.

Hope you enjoyed the blog. Signing off now with a quick message that 3D readers are making most of the opportunity I had given them in my previous post and buying Candeberg LED tealights with a special discount offer (exclusively for 3D readers). Valentine's Day Decor & Candeberg Giveaway

Valentine's Day is just around the corner
and I have teamed up with recently launched brand Candeberg to celebrate this occasion with my dear readers. Before I share the details about the Valentine's Day giveaway let's meet our guest today, Lalitha, co- founder of Candeberg who is here to tell us more about Candeberg.

Candeberg LED Tealights

We are a recently launched brand Candeberg, selling online exclusively on amazon.inOur product is a box of 12 flameless LED tealight candles with a realistic flicker and designer wraps that make it a lovely d├ęcor piece for indoors and outdoors. It’s quite popular amongst our customers for Do-It-Yourself decorations with Mason Jars and other accessories.
Our research team has meticulously picked out the best quality of LED tealight candles and tested them for durability, and aesthetic appeal.
They are easy to operate with a simple ON/OFF switch at the bottom and they fit any tealight or votive holder
They are fuss free, flame free. Require no supervision, and can be used indoors and outdoors. They are especially popular for wedding decor in Mason Jars, festival decor, and particularly with children for craft activities at school or home where they can make their own cutout pattern lanterns to go with these LED candles.
These are benefits that cannot be matched by any other kind of Diyas or real flame candles.

One of the things that I wanted to point out here is that a regular flame tealight lasts 3 hours (so a pack of 50 lasts 150 hours and costs around 250 Rs). Our tealights each last 70+ hours. So that's a total of 12 x 70 around 900 hours burn time (6 times 150 hours). So our price is for long use, durability and the added designer element of laser cut wraps, which make it a decor piece.

Valentine's Day Decor

Lalitha sent me a beautiful Candeberg box that contained 12 LED tealights and 12 laser cut paper wraps to enhance the beauty of this exquisite piece.

Valentine's Day Decor

I used them in my Valentine's Day decor and I am more than happy as they are flameless hence I don't need to be worried about my hyperactive son with whom I have to be extra careful. Here is how I am using these LED tealights.

Candeberg LED Tealights

Aren't they just gorgeous. These tealights can easily create the most romantic ambience. I used them in my Valentine's Day tablescape too.  Keep that flame alive in your hearts and use these flameless LED tealights in your decor!

Candeberg LED Tealights

This year I decided to go with white, red and pink colour combination and Candeberg LED tealights helped me create a warm, inviting and romantic ambience. My decor mantra is to make use of what is available instead of buying things for every occasion.

Candeberg LED Tealights

For Valentine's Day table decor, I used my glass tumbler as vase, filled water in it and added few drops of red food colouring and voila!! Filled this perfect for V Day vase with bougainvillaea flowers that are blooming in abundance in my balcony garden instead of buying roses. That's how my table looks during the daytime.

Candeberg LED Tealights

Take a closer look at this laser cut paper wraps. I especially liked how these warm yellow tealights flicker and give a realistic candle look.

My Steaming Cups Of Tea

Tea for me is what colours must have been for Van Gogh, Sufism must have been for Rumi and
philosophy must have been for Vivekananda. Tea is me!!
Whether I am happy or sad, cold or heated, I just want that warm hug in a mug and I feel rejuvenated.

Tea quotes

If you are cold, tea will warm you;
If you are heated, it will cool you;
If you are depressed, it will cheer you;
If you are excited, it will calm you.

More than tea I love to watch steam coming out from the mug. Like every time you brew tea, it tastes different, in the same way, the patterns created by steam coming out from mug are always different and so intriguing.

Tea Quotes

I just love to watch how one pattern appears, rises high and then disappears in the air in a matter of seconds. It seems like Dervish clad in a white attire is performing a Sufi dance.

Tea Quotes

There is something in the nature of tea that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation.

Tea Quotes

Each cup of tea represents an imaginary voyage. Tea is the magic

key to the vault where my brain is kept.

Tea Quotes

The 'art of tea' is a spiritual force for us to share. Tea is a religion of the art fo life.

Tea Quotes

There are some days when all you need are books and tea.

Tea Quotes

A cup of tea makes everything better and when it is accompanied by my favorite breakfast Poha, then it is even better.

Tea Quotes

Remember the tea kettle, it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings.

Tea Quotes

Life is like a cup of tea, it's all in how you make it.

Tea Quotes

Sometimes I get sad. But then I think about tea and everything is fine.

Tea Quotes

A cup of tea is like having a bath on the inside.

Tea Quotes

Where there is tea, there is love.

Tea Quotes

Enjoy your experience of a distinctive taste, personality and place in every cuppa.

Tea Quotes

You can't buy happiness but you can brew a cup of tea and that's kind of the same thing.

Tea Quotes

Tea is a liquid wisdom, there is always time for tea.

Tea Quotes

A cup of tea is an excuse to share great thoughts with great minds.

Tea Quotes

If tea can't fix it, it is a serious problem.

Tea Quotes

I am concluding my post with the quote-
"Tea is the root of all happiness"
You all have a happy week ahead and wait for my next post as I bring to you something for Valentine's day!!
